Jorunn at Samfundet

Name: Jorunn Elise
Short description: Jorunn tends to be at the speed of life. She enjoys watching TV-series, doing geeky stuff, play with her laptop and go to parties.
Food: Pepper steak, medium/well done.
Music: folkrock, some rock and electronica/pop.
Tech stuff: Laptop, iPod Mini (pink), USB-gadgets, discman, owns her own fileserver running Ubuntu Linux.
Bad: Enjoys sleeping (all day eh?), hates most of my music (Rap, Trance/House), feel too much connected to the GUI of Windows XP.
TV: The O.C., Desperate Housewifes, Joey,..(it's easier to make a list of the ones she doesn't like really)
Dislikes: That every cellphone on the planet have slightly less/other features than she fancy her special one to have. Lamers.

Where do one start to tell the world about the love you feel for another person? I do for sure not know, so this is my shot at it. This page is dedicated to tell you about her. It all started out when I got selected to join the IT-Comitee gang (a.k.a group) at the Student Society in Trondheim early in the autumn of 2004. She had also been selected and together with two others we were the new four, the brand new. After just a few moments I felt comfortable around her. Right -- Picture this: A girl who patches RJ-45 connectors on cables, drills screwdrivers and patch-gear like her own makeup. Who would not feel a bit of shy attraction about that eh? Add some pretty looks, a cute smile and you got Jorunn. For more than six months now we have had what I'd like to call a real relationship. Everything still feel perfect.

In August I open a new chapter in my book of life as I move from Osloveien to Solsiden -- Dyre Halses st. 15 flat A4A. This time a real woman will have a hand on the steeringwheel and make sure that whatever gets inside the door have been 'Jorunn-aproved', that is, suitable for a flat that may house someone else than a lonely, geeky geek. The appartment it self will ofcourse have it's geeky style as she as much as I, addmit that she's fond of technology. Jorunn takes time to check plans, take notes on scale and stuff, things that I never thought of. It's describing about her: Very accurate. Very at the point, yet prepared for something unprepared.

In the kitchen she allows me to shine. I enjoy cooking dinners and she knows it. She have gracefully accepted her role as state of the art kitchen food-taster. Let's not make that a secret, I enjoy that there's some area I still rule. In the livingroom Jorunn has control. The TV that I so offen tend to enjoy using for watching movies have of late become a TV again. TV series must be one of the big dark pools in her life. I have just begun scratching the edge I feel. Week by week I learn about new series that may be worth watching. While she watch them I have retreated to a few activities of my own, such as being a pillow in the sofa, going for a bikeride or doing some geeky stuff like maintaining TLUG or SPIST.

Fear is the path of the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to pain. Pain leads to suffering. Jorunn fears. Mostly she fears stuff from movies. Like that funny sound way back in the throat produced by the demon from the movie 'The Grudge'. Or how about a real good scare from Steven King's 'Rose Red', 'The Haunting', 'The Ring' or it's likes. Horror/Thriller movies tend to get her hooked, yet she fears them. I guess it's her own personal way to make sure she does not end up buying a big old house that someone either got lost or died in some odd number of years ago.

When it comes down to keeping her roots Jorunn tends to start talking with her 'native' dialect from 'Roeros' when she's upset or in a hurry. She also puts it up when she talks with someone from Roeros. Normally she has her slightly tilted dialect from the southeastern parts of Norway. Since she grew up partially at Roeros, partially at a farm in the countryside it's important to remember not to offend farming people around her. I try my best. I am a young man from the city, it's not easy, but I try.

Now, recently she's been busy with her own homepage! For more check out Jorunn's webpages over at jorunn.org.
